Written condition report

This original Art Deco floor ashtray epitomizes the sleek, streamlined aesthetic of early Dutch modernism. Produced by the renowned manufacturer Metawa (Tiel) in the 1930s, this rare piece showcases a striking contrast between polished tubular chrome and deep, dark Bakelite accents. The iconic chrome coil wrapping the central stem injects a dynamic sense of motion, elegantly balanced by an integrated matchbox holder and the original ash receiver. The weighted base features Metawa’s authentic "Holland" maker's stamp underneath—a subtle testament to its true heritage and era. A sophisticated architectural statement designed for the discerning connoisseur of vintage European avant-garde.
