How your piece travels

Every order makes the same journey, whether it is going to Amsterdam or Austin.

    Inspected and graded

    Each piece is cleaned, measured and graded, with a written condition report and close-up photographs.

    Packed by hand

    Carefully packed, with extra protection for fragile pieces, and handed to UPS within 1 to 3 business days after payment.

  4. Your door, United States

    Delivered

    Tracked delivery, on average 5 to 14 days after shipment. Import duties and taxes outside the EU are paid by the buyer, usually to the carrier on delivery.

What you pay, and when

Because every piece ships from the Netherlands, your order enters the United States as an import.

Import duties and taxes are not included in our prices or shipping. They are charged once the parcel reaches the US and are paid by the recipient, usually to the carrier before or on delivery.

We can't tell you the exact amount in advance, because it is set by US Customs and depends on the object, its materials and its value. If you would like guidance before you buy, write to us.

How will I know where my parcel is?

As soon as your order ships, we send you an email with the shipping details and a tracking number.

How is my piece packed?

Every piece is wrapped and boxed by hand in our studio, with padding made to fit fragile glass, ceramics and metal.

Do I pay import duties in the United States?

Yes. Import duties and taxes are charged when the parcel reaches the US and are paid by the recipient. We have no control over these charges, as they are set by US Customs.

I ordered more than one piece. Will they arrive together?

Usually, yes. If your order ships in more than one parcel, you will not pay extra shipping, and each parcel gets its own tracking number.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Write to us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the piece and the packaging. We will review it and work with you to find a solution.

Can I return a piece?

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. After telling us, you have a further 14 days to send the piece back, complete and in the condition you received it. Return shipping is paid by the buyer, unless the return is due to our error. Write to us first and we will explain how to send it.

What if my address was entered incorrectly?

Please check your address carefully at checkout. If a parcel comes back to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, the return and redelivery costs are paid by the buyer.

Can a lamp be used in the United States?

If a piece has a European plug or fitting, a US plug can be fitted before shipping. Mention it at checkout.

Every FormaFinds piece ships from the Netherlands with UPS. Below you will find how your order is processed, how long delivery takes and what it costs.

Order processing

Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days after payment is received. Once your order has shipped, you receive a confirmation email with UPS tracking information.

Delivery time

Delivery takes on average 5 to 14 days after shipment. This is an estimate: delays caused by UPS, high shipping volumes or international transit can affect the final delivery date, and these are outside our control.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs are shown at checkout. For larger or fragile pieces, such as lamps, glassware or ceramics, additional shipping costs may apply. We always tell you in advance.

Shipping method and packing

We ship all orders with UPS (United Parcel Service), with tracking from dispatch to delivery. Every piece is carefully packed, with extra protective material for fragile and unique second-hand items.

Second-hand pieces

All pieces are second-hand and unique. Signs of use, age-related wear or minor imperfections may be present. These are normal for vintage objects and part of their character.

Damaged shipments

If a piece arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of both the piece and the packaging. We will work with you to find a solution.

Lost or undelivered parcels

If your parcel has not arrived within the expected time, contact us and we will start an investigation with UPS. We are not responsible for delays or loss caused by the carrier, but we will help you resolve the issue.

Incorrect address

You are responsible for providing a correct shipping address. If a parcel cannot be delivered because of an incorrect address, additional shipping costs may apply.

Import duties and taxes

For international orders, import duties, customs fees and taxes may apply. These are always paid by the buyer and are not covered or reimbursed by FormaFinds. We recommend checking with your local customs office before you order.
